About the Training

Yes, you can take the trainings if you do not live in Maryland. However, some of the CE credits may be specific to Maryland only.

There is no cost to take the training modules.

If you subscribe to the National Center for School Mental Health listserv, new courses will be advertised through social media and the newsletter. Subscribe here.

 

About Certification

The answer to this question depends on whether you are already a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. If you are interested in becoming a Peer Recovery Specialist for the first time, you will need to contact the Maryland Addiction and Behavioral Health Professionals Certification Board. Download this brochure for more information. 


If you are already a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, you can take the training modules on MDBH toward recertification.

Some courses carry CE credits, while others don’t. Please see the course descriptions on the Training page to ascertain whether a course counts toward CE credit and the type of CE credit available.

The date you complete the training will appear on the completion certificate with your continuing education credit.

Yes, you can stop, save, and pick up where you left off for each of the courses since they are designed to be taken at your own pace.

We do not have a listserv for the mdbehavioralhealth.com website. However, we do have a listserv for the National Center for School Mental Health (NCSMH) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Subscribe here.

The number of CEs offered is listed on each module’s Course Information page.

The series of modules under the heading, Youth Co-Occurring Disorders Training for Behavioral Health Providers are approved for Maryland Social Work continuing education credits.

The course entitled Mental Health Training Intervention for Health Providers in Schools (MH-TIPS) gives Continuing Nurse Education credits for nurses.

About Technology

Once you complete the course, the final test (if applicable), and the course evaluation survey, the tab label will change from “Final Test” to “Certificate” and display your certificate. You can download and print your certificate. This button will not appear until all required actions have taken place. If you have completed all required actions and the download certificate button does not appear, please contact [email protected] for assistance.

Typically, certificates are not mailed. If you are having trouble accessing/printing your certificate, please contact [email protected].
